Afternoon guys, got a dilema. Daughters 07 PT Cruiser non turbo with 70k on it has an oil leak. I couldnt figure out what where it was coming from so brought it to the shop. Turns out its the head gasket got a quote of $1700 to fix it. This also includes sending the head in to have it checked for cracks and milled. The car is only worth $3300 so Im torn on what to do.. If it wasnt a DOHC engine I would do it myself, but I've done one of those before and it was a royal PITA. Car is in excellent condition overall, but for over half the cost of the car. Im not sure what to do.. Has anyone done a head gasket on the 2.4???
