My 1972 Duster didn’t have sound deadener or factory air conditioning 44 years ago. Lol.[/QUOT
Shoot, 44 years ago our house didn't have AC, or much insulation either, let alone the car...

I guess that's the problem I have with drag racing is waiting 2 hours in the boiling hot sun on black pavement for that short 11 to 8 second run...
remember my snowmobiles are number one and I don't think you would last very long at 8000 feet... Want to do a little math here... my snowmobile has 160 + horsepower direct port fuel injected 2 stroke... For its 500 lb.. that's like your car having eight or nine hundred horsepower LOL... Riding that kind of horsepower at six, seven, and eight thousand feet can get a little tiring if you're not used to it...
Come on up to the peak of Mount Bailey at 8000 feet... Overlooking diamond lake below...

Trust me you would never be cold on a snowmobile and a half day on one of my sleds would have you in the ICU..I have zero interest in anything involving cold or snow. I happily spend hours on 120 degree pavement. Thanks but no thanks. A four day race weekend would probably kill you. Wimps need not apply.

like you I have zero interest in spending four days in 120 degree heat on the blacktop waiting for a few seconds on the track.. I'd rather spend the whole day tapping that horsepower!!!...
You're welcome! No charge........How did this turn into a snowmobile post??? Ohhh that's right, J par dropped in. Psssss psssss.
I first got burned in 1997 when my all time favorite magazine Super Stock & Drag Illustrated got bought out by Hot Rod only two issues after I did a 6 year renewal for 72 bucks. I couldn’t get a refund and I got 70 issues of HR rammed up my rear. I wasn’t happy. Most of those went into the crapper or I gave them to my dad.
I took a picture of yellow rose the last time I seen him...SSDI was a great mag.....
We must be in the same age group, and I’m not 39.....lol

That's because you don't get the hole racing community.I have zero interest in spending four days in 120 degree heat on the blacktop waiting for a few seconds on the track.. I'd rather spend the whole day tapping that horsepower!!!...
Actually I don't know what you're talkin about? I'm put in seasons at the track and I have hundreds of Time Slips to prove it. I know what I'm talking about for myself. I get it... I get the community as we would gather together and have big potluck BBQs at the track and help each other out and stuff like that but I've realized over the years that I don't like the heat that much especially that much heat.. now in the past when we used to have our motorhome and I could recluse in the air conditioning for a little while it was tolerable but I'm not going to force myself and spend money on something that I don't completely enjoy. That's why I took the hot cam out of my car and sold the skinnies and slicks and put an interior in it... I still keep my trailer around but I use it for several different purposes as well...That's because you don't get the hole racing community.
It's where I made the final four in the stick shift class in the all Mopar drags this last year..What’s a woodburn. Ohhh about a cord a month. Lol.

Oh snap!!... Who's this going for the win......
LOL.. yes that untrue scenario would suit your statement, but there was actually a full line of cars in the stick shift class. when my son comes from Colorado he usually races pro and I'll race the stick shift class in the same car.. I like the the event as it not only has an all Mopar car show, but an all Mopar swap meet so I don't have to go around the whole world looking for Mopar Parts every booth has them..Heck I heard only six cars showed up.
YR, is that you ? lolI took a picture of yellow rose the last time I seen him...

I've clearly said snowmobiling is my number one favorite hobby..I'm not trying to at you it just a simple fact that drag racing is like 3d or 4th on you list of favorite hobbies
If it was first it would be more tolerable. Not one of us like being call up into the stagging lane to just set there, or get rain on or snowed on for that matter......It's just all part of the sport.
I use to have snowmobiles, i use to have jeeps, i even had a mud boging truck at one time............i can only affort to have one hobby.
Drag Racing is my love. and so all the rest just sit or got sold.
Thanks. I missed renewing it. Ordered. This seems like a good deal. I’m not really into it but many are.
