Hello,
Ok trying to find the name of this part. It is a little compartment that is under the dash. It is the same on both sides and it bolts onto the drainage "cowel"? I think it needs new seals but I dont actually know what it's called so I'm not sure what I'm searching for
Any help is most appreciated

It is a fresh air vent that is connected to the cowl opening without factory A/C . On cars without heaters there are 2 of them . One on each side . Often called "poor mans air conditioning " go down the road with both open and the vent windows open all the way and its like a mini-tornado inside . also a good place for water to come inside .

You used to be able to buy small sheets of open cell foam for window air conditioner filters. Cut them up & they make good thin foam gaskets.

Welcome to the forum, BTW.

IT IS THE BEST FRESH AIR VENT SYSTEM EVER INVENTED EXCEPT FOR THE CRANK OPEN WINDSHIELDS

The doors take flat sheet foam backed with adhesive to replace...

I go to the craft section in WalMart and get the black foam in sheets, cut it to appropriate size and pattern and use spray headliner glue to replace the door seal. Works perfectly. I also use the foam weatherstrip from Home Depot or Menards to replace the top ring.

Cars WITH heaters have 2 of them as well!

Lube the pivot points on those doors asap. They break easily if they get a little rusty.
