So last summer, otw back from Carlisle, I ended up traveling the Lincoln Highway, US 30 for a bit. Was surfing youtube and stumbled across a documentary on it. Pretty cool history. Makes me really want to burn some vacation time, load up and go on a road trip. Stupid virus

I have a old map of the US, before the interstate system was built. That is fun to look at. Shows 66 in its entirety!

dude! that is freaking awesome. Been trying to find a wall map for a while, found a few options i could get but none seem to show it how i really want it, a full US map of the early highways up until say the 1950s before any interstates went in

I have just that! It is in two parts, Western, and Eastern. From Texaco. Suitable for framing!

Diff is hanging...
Driveshaft is 1-1/2” too short.
There is a 4 bolt flange at diff, i will get a spacer made. Talked to the machinist, he sounds excited to fab something up.

Well, I've drilled the old floor on the Belve, and mounted the seats on the riser brackets, and installed the driver seat. But.....even with the adjuster all the way back, it is TOO close to the steering wheel...Back to the drawing board. Guess I'll be moving the holes 6-8 inches back, But the problem is, the floor starts to drop off , not far behind where the rear holes are drilled.....:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

How do you move holes that have already been drilled???

US 30 runs by here also...

They just confirmed, 5 tornadoes on the ground last night. F1s and F2s. All within 20 miles of me. Closest tornado to me was 7 miles to the northwest as the crow flies, went right thru the town I mentioned last night.

the damage and stuff just down the road about half a mile, they are saying is from a funnel that never touched down and was mostly the flanking downdrafts aka straight line winds. Estimated speed in excess of 90 mph straight out of the northwest. Highest officially recorded was closer to town at the airport and that was 84 mph.

dang we got lucky. No life threatening injuries reported and no real damage here at my place.

Ok 318la. Has 8-10* of slop in the timing chain. Try just replacing it and maybe eat the time and gaskets if that doesnt get it running or tear it down for a possible re-ring/seal job or worst case senario total rebuild?
Opinions?

Needs a chain and gears. Can you do a compression test or a leakdown? That will help you decide. It won't tell you how far the bearings are gone though. I would tear it down. A re-ring, bearings and gaskets may be all it needs.

Nothing like that, but we had a nasty storm roll through this morning.I was in the garage with the door open. Was like someone was waving a big *** pressure washer around. Could feel the mist through the whole room and wind was driving from the back corner almost opposite of the door.
