Slant six 170 carburetor upgrade

Hi,
I have a 225 with the Clifford intake and the Weber 38/38 551 CFM. It's ok for bee boppin to car shows, but it's not practical if you want to run it as a normal street car which it's meant to be. I'm thinking about pulling it out and replacing it with the smaller street friendly 32/36 Weber. You will save on gas. Also, my car came with the Redline, rectangular air filter which was 25% deteriorated. I replaced it (oiled) and within a week it started to deteriorate again with holes redering it useless. So I got a 5 and 1/4" round adapter plate and just installed a ten inch round filter housing with the paper filter on top of the 38/38 carb. I suppose you can spray paint it black to look more stock, or you might be able to use the stock, round one you have. Anyway, I don't know if they make some type of adapter plate/spacer for the Weber 32/36 carb without using the Clifford platform/intake. Hopefully someone here can suggest a simpler option than having to install the Clifford intake.
I appreciate that I'm looking into getting the Clifford manifold with the adapter plate that's about the only place I've been able to find something close to that but Clifford only offers the 38/38 Weber not the one I'm looking for which is the 32/36 I plan on using it as a daily which is why I'm looking for the more fuel efficient but its confusing me when I go to look one up on eBay or redline and the website or add will say it's for a specific type of vehicle or engine type I'm not too familiar with working with carbs which is why I wanted to know if there is a specific part number for what I am looking for or would it be just any 32/36?
