Hey guys,

How good is the quality and fit of AMD? specifically, front fenders and quarters for a 74 Dart? Or would it be better to go with a solid used fender? I am not restoring a museum piece, however, i want to build a really nice car..

IMO if you can find solid original rust free sheet metal I’d use that. I just ordered some quarter skins for a 69 Dart from AMD they are nice but not perfect.

I don't think you can get AMD fenders for a 74 Dart. You can only get 68 or 69 fenders. They will fit except for the part where the headlight mounts. I got the 69 fenders to use on my 73 Dart Sport. I planned on detaching the headlight panels and some flange area where the header panel attaches from the 73 fenders and welding it in to the 69 fenders. That leaves the side marker lights being different. The 69 side reflector is mounted flush and lower which I think I like better anyway.
For me, getting these new parts from AMD was instantly addictive. Now I want every piece that will fit my car.

They make the fenders up to 71. You can use the 71 fender on a 72 if you patch the side marker light area. No reproduction fenders are available for 73+ dart. Only option is original or fiberglass.
AMD is one of the best for fitment and quality. However any new panel will require some fitting, none are perfect out of the box. Every once in a while you get lucky though.

They do make the quarters but I think they might be on their discontinue list. Its a long list so if you need anything go to their website and check it out. I just got in a pallet load of stuff the other day. I was scared I wouldnt be able to get it later so I bit the bullet and ordered everything I needed for my car in one shot.

I was going to get 2 of those same panels you have pictured but I’m going to bite the bullet and instead get the full quarter to the rear post. I’m thinking quarters will look less wavy. Your thoughts?

IMO they are just fine. They person that does the work is the important piece of the equation!

If a lot of these parts are being discontinued, And I am sure used parts sources will dry up as well how are people going to finish their projects??

You are in Cleveland, just go to the Mopar nats in August in Columbus.
You will find decent fenders there reasonable, also if you order your 1/4 panels from AMD they will deliver them for free.

AMD has good freight charges if you do ship. For my shipping zone it was only $225 to get a whole pallet of sheet metal delivered with lift gate service. But yeah if you can wait until a show they will bring your order there for free. I picked up a cuda shaker hood at carlisle and the car(SUV) was so packed that my girlfriend sat in the hood with her body sticking out of the shaker hole. Rode that way from Carlisle PA to my brothers house in Baltimore MD. :)

So....instead of a Shaker hood, did that temporarily make it a Shakers hood?:D:p
