[Found!] 2.45 R&P for 8-1/4 axle

I have a whole 3rd member with 2.45 gears.
As you probably know the housing and gears are a matched set.
Cant put 2.45's in the other housing and visa versa.
$250 for the whole thing?

It's out of an A body.
Consider it a core.
We bought it to put a 3.55 SG in. It never patterned right so we got a 2nd one with the "other" housing and moved everything over.
If I remember the bearings in the 2.45 one are junk.
If the distance isnt a problem (we drove to TN to get it...lol) I'll dig it out and pull the cover off and get a pic or 2 if u want.

And I know FOR A FACT you cannot switch 2.45 ratio stuff with the numerically higher parts.
The pinion is lower and farther to the pass side and the ring and pinion will not pattern due to pinion being too low.
We tried it with 2 different gearsets. a used one, wouldn't pattern. and then with a new gearset. same way.
Tried again with a Numerically higher housing and it patterned like you would expect.

Okay, thank you! It looks like I need to close this thread and look for a set of 2.56 or 2.76:1 (2.56:1 carrier break) gears instead. Needing to find some to swap into a pickup for an interstate driver. Would you have anything else available?

Okay, obviously won't need pics of the internals, carrier break is 2.56:1 and higher, so that's my bogey.
