Voluntarily........out of a job

Whenever it was April1? that WA and ID were getting into/ towards isolation "lockdown" I was supposed to go back to work that Wed 4/1. I had called work and told them I'm stayin' home until this is over.

So at some point a week? later I called the CEO and my super--who is about my age and low on immune system---my super was at home, and the CEO breeched the subject "maybe" I could do some work at home

NADA

So this morning......4/16---I called to see what if anything was up, about working at home. The CEO says "actually we are closed, 'we have an infection.' " Did not go into details. Thank you VERY much (NOT) for calling all the employees and warning us

So I called the super--who is hunkered down at home since I guess 4/1--AND HE AND HIS GIRLFRIEND ARE SICK WITH IT. Evidently they got a light case, but still---He thinks he got it from one of the salesmen, which means there are at least two people at work infected

Nice to know you work (NOT) for a company who gives a **** about you and your health

I also called the local health district to see if I should be tested--maybe I'm a carrier? They called me back and asked a few questions, and told me "that as long as it's been" since I've been to work, and since I've had no symptoms, they don't see the need for testing.

They only care about money. The sooner people realize that and start working for their own interests the better off they will be. Sad, but true.

Good decision on your part to stay home,
More people should have done this.

I'm hoping this will happen after the virus and continue on into other area's.
The people need to start saying F THIS about a lot of things.

It would be nice wouldn't it? Employee's are asked to be loyal, committed but it's never a two way road. Give two weeks notice but if we don't like you we don't give you the same.

Sorry to read Del, I cant believe as a business owner he wouldnt make a call to employees! Makes ya wanna mail some dog turds to the guy....COD
Be safe and healthy.

Sorry to hear your situation, but always better to be safe and healthy.
I work at a SoCal office location of a company based in the San Francisco Bay area. When I went to work on 03/16 I was turned around and told to work from home. I ended up taking my office computer system home with me so I could continue working on the corporate computer system via my home WiFi. I asked our corporate IT department to have my office phone forwarded to my personal cell phone so I don't miss any incoming customer calls.
Almost all of the company employees from all locations are now working from home.
I'm curious how many of us will get to continue working from home after this is all over.

^^Yeh. And whichever way it goes, it usually cost ME^^
