Some areas are at the top of the curve??? other more rural areas are just getting going! The country will fairly soon start to reopen in areas. I have to wonder what all the do's and don't will be!?
I bet it will be the survival of the fitest, healthy and young will demand to get back to work, the rest will do or die.
I watched on the Nat. news yesterday, where their med.expert doctor lady, says " we just don't have any idea how this virus works"! Yea, right!

It will be not surprising to see the rebound of the virus. Isolating to control the spread did only that, for that time period. Once we start to act normal again, it will spread like they didn't want it to in the beginning.
I think there will be many more affected than in this original hit.

Agreed , the biggest confusion is caused by the lack of consistancy between regions in how and who they test and how they report the results . Some Provinces here only report after confirming an initial positive with more testing , on March 23 Quebec started reporting the initial positive and our cases skyrocketed , we have been on a regional lockdown with police blockades at entry points and we seem to have actually reduced the curve in areas outside of montreal wher half the numbers come from . The region I am in the Pontiac had 5 cases as of monday night all in a nursing home where the vast majority of cases are turning up , thats in a region larger than some US states . It's a huge hassle but worth it to keep this virus at bay , remember you can't go just by daily numbers you have to look at the weeks as a whole to get an even curve . Good Luck to all .I have a link to video on how to really deal with the financial issues but am not sure where to put it .

350 cases here in this county, 99 of which are at the Federal Prison. Only 5 in my valley so far (100K + population).
thats probably going to be the theme going forward for rural areas like ours , the cases will be centered on places where people are stacked like sardines , prisons and nursing homes .

I'd bet it won't be until the weather cools off in the Fall though. I doubt it'll bounce back in the dead of Summer.

Also, at least then folks should be a little more prepared - but perhaps a bit desensitized as well.

Make no mistake, people's lives will be traded for economy numbers and approval ratings.
It happened when there were multiple source warnings of this virus outbreak, and continues to happen.

Some years back I used to judge high school science fairs. One of the other judges was a Toxicologist from Bayer. Way smart guy. We would come across projects about how pesticides killed fish in the rivers or had a hazard of some sort. These would always irritate him a little bit. When I asked him why, he gave me an insight. He said that the these projects didn’t really give the whole picture. He agreed that they were factual and that the chemicals we use do have unintended effects and were likely harmful in some way. He then asked a question: can you imagine the country with an unsafe food supply? I had never thought of it that way. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to do better. Just means those at the top have more things to consider than dead fish.

My point in this story is that just about everything at a country wide level is a compromise. We trade some of this for some of that to achieve a greater good. I hope and pray that we have leaders wise enough to make those decisions for us.

The latest USA numbers: 1.2 million confirmed cases, and 70,000 deaths. A lot of pain out there.
My question is why are there only 1,500 deaths in India? I assumed that country would have more problems than any other. As they are living in high density conditions with limited medical services available.

kinda reminds me of hiding under a desk in grade school during the cold war.

Here at work kinda crazy. It seems as they aren't always sure of what to do. Here in the lab bosses want us to wear masks all the time. But employees in production aren't required. Monday we will have to take our temp and say we don't have any of the symptoms that goes with covid. That's ok, I'll follow their program. Their playground, their rules.
