Don Garlits

That is a great video. I lived about 2 miles from his house in Seffner and first met him around 1972. And in a small way a part of his history. From 1973-1975 I owned the only franchise of his. Don Garlits of Temple Terrace. As a teenager my buddie and I would skip school and hang out at his speed shop in Tampa. Where I met John Zorian, TC Lemons, Swindle and many others. It’s a very fond memory of mine.

Wasn't the carded blister parts from that timeframe on a card labeled Garlits/Zorian ?

Garlits speed shop was one of the first to do that but I believe it was Mr Gasket that pioneered the process.
 
When Don finally moves on to "the great racetrack" it will indeed be a sad day.
