Went ahead and got the carpet cut to fit and installed. I am assuming it will eventually lay flat after it's been in a while. Sure is mighty red ain't it?

I made the mistake of buying my carpet and storing it for years before I opened it and it took a while for it to relax. There's a reason they make them to order because they want you to open the box up as soon as you get it and get it relaxed....
Looks good! My wife and I just looked at a 64 four door for her the other day but it was not in very good shape when we got there..

Thank you. This stayed in the box about a month and that was it.

I usually use standard interiors for myself and when I call them they say it takes about 3 days to make it in about six or seven days to get it. I tell my customers to order the carpet about 10 days from when they need it that way they can take it right out of the box the day they get it and get it to pop back out like it used to be. That's why they don't store them on the shelves and ready to ship...

Also I don't get the loop anymore.. even if I burn a hole ahead of time I always heads up snagging a thread and digging out a long line LOL.. I get the fuzzy carpet now you can drill a hole through it LOL and it doesn't catch a snag and make a long run...

I'm going to use my soldering iron to put holes in it. I tried a piece of scrap and it works good!

When I was making holes on my back floorboard for my nitrous bottle bracket I would take the back end of a center punch and clampitt and some vice grips and heat the tip of it with my torch LOL and press it into the carpet..
Damn it! I still caught a snag when I put the drill in the hole and pulled out a strip! I have them by my shifter as well LOL I have to color them in with a dark marker to try and hide them.. I guess my advice is make the whole plenty big enough so the drill bit doesn't catch any of the ends..

That carpet looks great. I did mine in the winter time and its wrinkled and I didn’t do a great job.

When I put the holes for the seat I come from underneath and push up with a ice pick little tool then I take another one and come from the top and put it in there till I have all of the holes with screwdriver sticking down into them. then I usually take a razor blade and make a small X right on the hole... That way the studs for the seats just fall right in...

Oh wow that looks great!! I love it. Where did you get your carpet I really like that. I thought about getting mine in a roll and cutting it to fit. But I really like how that looks.

Heat a long tapered punch and burn/melt the holes -------------full size .

Nice patchwork is it a valiant or is it a barracuda?..
And the reason I asked was because the carpet kit for the barracuda is more expensive and much more involved. You have to glue all the stuff onto the back fender walls on the inside and all the carpet on the back of the back seat that folds down and all the way through the back. You have to take up all the Chrome pieces and put them back down over the edges of the carpet... on the other hand if all that was good witch it's usually not because it's all sun-bleached from being under that big windshield you could just probably buy the valiant carpet kit and get the floorboards done.. Just an extra side note of information for those interested and this different variation of the same car...

I'm trying to decide on a color for my carpet. Just to add to the monotony of everything else I have to do it Haha. I'm doing a off white parchment interior and my dash is dark copper so I want a lighter color like tan or gold. I found one that is perfect but its too expensive and it doenst give me a name of the color

I said that in post 589...?..
YEAH , I`m guilty of posting before I read all the way thru the posts , often I dont anyway , some get boring , there is so little info on here any more
