Can't even fit a a/a that's 2.5" thick and 7" tall even behind the bumper? Just curious
I may be able too, but then get the cold to it and back to the throttle body is tough.
Nice Duster, what part of IN you in? I am in Sullivan county.
Thanks, 3-1/2 years of work, finally seeing some progress. I'm in Adams county up by Fort Wayne. You going to Indy tomorrow?

Sure am!

Love this car. What are using for an ecu? Looks like you still have the beer barrel intake and stock TB.

Just drill holes next to the lowest radiator support or wrap under it, turn your carb hat toward the drivers side. With your fab skills will take a bit but worth it.

But I’m not going to do any cutting on this one. Others have cut it up enough. Please remember that this was a magazine car, and I wouldn’t have cut it up like it is. If I could get underneath the frame rails I wouldn’t be opposed to cut some on the lower core support as it is badly butchered anyway. This Duster was driven by Mopar racer Paul Rossi and was owned by Dick Landy from 1990-2001.

Oh very cool. Well just route the pipe under the support that way you wouldn't need to cut at all.

I believe I have a copy of the magazine where they did a shootout with a mustang and camaro.

There’s one before that with Paul Rossi tuning the Duster with a 318 engine in it that was built as the first crate engine. Then later in Hot Rod 2005 when they rebuilt the 360 with a solid roller cam and 13.25:1 compressionand again in 2013 in Mopar Action.

Sorry guys, with all the crap happening I haven't had much time to update this.

The April 1990 Article with Paul Rossi driving the Duster.

I'm not sure if a 30 year old article counts as an update

:poke:
Fair enough, but I had said that I was going to post some about the magazine history of the car.

I did put the new PTC 9-1/2" 3700 stall converter in. Ready for the racing season to begin!

This is a great build! Side note. How long have you owned the car? I raced against this car in the finals at the first Mopars at the Strip in 2003 in the Pro category!

Sorry, I do not get on here much. That is so cool, I think that was when they were still running the crate engine before Gary had Dick build it into the solid roller engine. I bought the Duster in September of 2013 just after it came out of hibernation after it had about a third of a retainer break off and go down inside the engine in 2007 at MATS. The Duster made it to MATS in 2013 non running and was put up for sale. Now I'm getting ready to go back to the track (hopefully this week) and go after that 10 second ET.

So cool. I remember all the articles. Its definitely the coolest 73 Duster out there. 10’s on a stock 318 with manifolds and no intercooler is certainly impressive. I just raced at Indy last week for the first time. You east coast guys have great tracks.

We have the same combo my friend. I love it. Very impressive 20 psi numbers on the bottom end. If you could change your gear ratio, which way would you go?
