So I recently bought a 2dr post. Did a little research. I’m new to Mopar’s.. didn’t even know there was such a thing. Also didn’t even know they have a shorter wheel base!?
1) how is the car shorter? Is it from the front door back?
2) is the roof from a valiant?
3) if I had to put 1/4’s on it would I have to get hard top 1/4’s and modify accordingly?
4) are these cars hard to find/ rare?

Car came with build sheet. Looks like the post cars are bare bones cars. Came from Hamtramck slant 6 904 UU1 color, power steering.

I think they just look shorter, headliner is same as a 4dr as well as rear seat,

Wheelbase is 111"

Same roof as 4 door dart, front and back glass is same as 4 door around 1 1/2" taller.

1/4 should all be the same
4) are these cars hard to find/ rare?
Only built in 67-68
I like the post cars, old school and stiffer body than a hard top.

Wheel base is the same as hard top. Roof line is taller. Front glass and back glass are the same as 4dr. Great choice in mopar. As far is rare, mopar made a lot but not many remain today.

Basically, they are 4 doors modified from the factory to be a 2 door.
The quarters off of a 2 door hard top will work if you aren't using full quarters and using just the outer skins.

No such thing as a "post" Mopar. They are all sedans and all 67-76 Darts and Scamps no matter what the configuration has 111" wheelbase. The windshield and rear window glass fits between 4-doors and 2-door sedans.

Post is a Chevy thing, Chrysler never called anything a "post". Just like Sure Grip not "posi", Mopar people are anal like that. The first roomy cab was coined as a Club Cab by Chrysler, they never made a Super Cab or Extended Cab...

I've got a 74 Club Cab w/8ft bed. Still running and working.

DAM GUY , WHO CARES , AS LONG AS THE POINT GETS ACROSS/ detroit locker in my dana 60 aint ford either , but who cares !

"Post car" refers to the car having a B pillar, most of them were bare bones /6 cars unless ordered differently.

SlantedDart, your car sounds familiar.
I had a UU1 1968 Dart 2 door "seadaaan" back in 1974. It was almost bare bones, auto, PS, AM radio were the only options.
My grandmother bought it brand new in July 68, but pretty much stopped driving the next year due to failing health.
My father commandeered it from her in 1972. Then I bought it from him in 1974 for $400
The car was still spotless when I got it.
I traded it in on a 1976 Pontiac Lemans Sport thinking at that time that I needed a cooler car to drive the girls home in from the bars.
That was the last year for that body style in the Dart model.
It is another car from the past that I still wish I had today....

Well the story goes from previous owner he found it in a barn in Jersey. Lost interest in it and I bought it. There is a faded imprint of what looks like Longhorn PA dealer sticker on it.

MY 68 Dart was sold new in Rochester, NY
I still have the owner's manual and certicard for it.
The dealer never added her name and address labels to the card.
I just checked the warranty book and saw that the car was delivered on 9/19/68

just as much as I hate the sure grip referred to as a posi ,,, or a unibody getting a frame off restoration,,, I will never use the "post" word again

Hey, I'm also guilty of saying it. I just never knew that it was a GM thing. Something that I'm not disputing.

Okay... how is “post” a Chevy thing? If you pick up any sales brochure from the 60’s all the manufacturers call these cars 2 door sedans..as far I know “post” was just a slang ...but if you have other information as to why it is a Chevy term I would like to hear it...

Boy, I think Jim has struck a nerve here....

Your wrong maybe Chrysler didn't call it a post but thats what they are, there is a sedan, hardtop, sport, convertible, and 4 door. All different codes in the vin they are not all sedans

I will still call them 2 door posts because that is what they are.
Life is too short to worry about stuff like that.
People need to relax a bit........

I'm just looking for an answer ...not that I stop using the term ...because everyone I know be it Ford, Chevy or Mopar guys refer to them as post cars

I figured I take a second to post a picture of my post. This is post restomod. If you look hard, you can see a fence post in the background.
