63 slant 6 904 transmission seal and o ring question

"O" rings are often standard sizes, so a general "O" ring assortment should cover you.[/QUOTE
That's true Murray, but it may also be time consuming. I'm not saying it's not a good idea, but the kit has all the parts and seals in one package. Parts for all older cars are getting more difficult to find. I had to get a Master kit for a client one time for an older model Packard. We bought our gasket sets and friction plates from OEM suppliers. My catalog had no listings for most vehicle built prior to 1960, so we went to our suppliers and they were no help other than going to, I believe Fatsco who specialize in pre 1960 parts. I found out as did my customer, the parts were available from Fatsco but at a cost. The 904/727 have most parts readily available because parts for the most part are the same since 1960. The exception is the what Mineallmine is looking for. For both the 904/727 early transmissions the OH gasket and seal kit if you want all those O-rings/seals has to be purchased as a kit. It's the cost of warehousing individual parts that has driven these small items into kits. Hell I bought a carb kit for the Thermoquad in my Challenger. The kit covered models from 1971 to 1974.
