Rim size?

Hey guys,

My 74 dart stock 14" rims. i heard somewhere on here that the rims were stamped to indicate the rim width. So when I look at new tires I have that info. I looked ta my rims and found these numbers. Is the 7 the width of this rim??

Measure across the rim on the inside of the flanges. That will be the rim width.

I thought they were stamped inside, not outside with the sizes??
