Maybe this will wake everyone up about isolating.

People seem to think by isolation that it will keep them from being exposed to the virus.

All the isolation does is control the rate at which people will be exposed. The reason is not to overload the healthcare system and with the exception of a few places (New York City, etc) we haven’t. Current numbers are between 25-50% of ICU beds and ventilators being used.

Eventually everyone will be exposed to the virus and either you will survive or you won’t.

Nobody makes it out of this world alive:thumbsup:
Cute. Nobody makes it out alive. Jim Morrison was so wise... yeah. Are you in a hurry? Partially true on "controlled exposure". Same rhetoric as "if you drive every day, you will eventually die in an auto accident". No. Use common sense, and increase your odds. Spanish influenza and the 1918 pandemic didn't kill everyone that was susceptible, and there were many more "at risk" people then. Are we no more advanced now than then? Medically and technically we are miles ahead of where we were then. The problem is with self-centered people, and with the entitled mentality that has taken over our society. Common sense is what has died out over the generations since, and is why people need to be told what is proper in these times- it's not a chance for the powers that be to rescind our civil liberties, but a need to spell it out for the masses who in time will revert to their "me" mentality.
I've lost a former co-worker, not an "at risk" person either. Mid thirties, wife and two kids. Tell them that it's more important that you are allowed to go to the bar. My daughter is a Nurse Practitioner, dealing with the worst cases on a daily basis. She would love the opportunity to self isolate, but she has the sense to realize that this can't be beaten by denying that there is a problem. I pray for her daily and for all the people who are endangered by the selfishness of others. Suck it up until we get a handle on this.
