I need help with how to install the mounts on my 383. The drivers side looks fairly straight forward but the passenger side mount rubber is offset horizontally and looks off. The motor is suspended using a lift in pic so it it will swing into alignment. I'm just talking about how the pad sits on the mount.
Can anyone take a pic of a similar mount o

That is a small block rubber biscuit, not a big block. Here is a picture of what you need...

That makes sense. Unfortunately, This motor came with this K member and mounts and I don't think it is a real BB K member. Im wondering if I get proper BB mounts they might not fit on this frankenstein K member.
yeesh...perhaps this install will be postponed even more....(sigh)

Well that is definitely not a factory big block A-Body k-frame. Looks like a small block k-frame, are you using Schumacher mounts?

Did you try to turn the rubber pad 90 degrees. All the one I’ve ever seen the long side runs top to bottom, short side is front to back. Like the driver side mount in the other photo.

You are correct. Thanks!
It took me a bit to figure that out lol.
And now I managed to rip the mount biscuit apart during the install...yeesh. Oh well, I heard Mancini sell them.

I think this is what you have to do on the driver side from what I have seen. I am sure someone that did this will jump in

take out that spacer
you have cut the K frame, red square

hey Shmaako...

i'm building a 69 M-Code Cuda right now and went through the issue of the big block k-member problem.

i had a small block 340 k-member, however, the 383-440 k-member is a little different. i found a big block k-member here on FABO. there used to be motor mounts available to put a big block engine on a small block k-member but right now, the companies that were making them are either out of business or not producing anything. the big block motor mounts are available but they only fit on the big block k-member. the below picture pictures show the difference between the small block k-member and the big block one. the small block motor mounts are right across from each other - even. the big block motor mounts are "off-set" from one another.

Yup, looks like small block k-member with conversion mounts. I believe that some of the conversion mounts mounts the insulator like that. I've always built my old Direct Connection k-member so I've never had to deal with conversion mounts.

I am having the same issues with a 440 in a '68 dart. The other issue I have NOT been able to solve is the exhaust manifolds. I purchased several versions from various years and have no luck on the driver's side. I am going to weld up a driver's side motor bracket.
ANY ideas on the driver's side exhaust manifold?

'68-73 B-body HP manifold with the outer sleeve on the steering column cut up to the firewall. The clearance is MINIMUM to the shaft, but it will work. You can also shift the column and box a little to the left for a little more clearance.

With the BB K frame you'll also need the BB mount bracket to match. It wraps around the front of the block and bolts in 2 holes above the oil pump(you'll also need a block with those holes) That's the setup I run in my 69 B'cuda with a 400 based 470"

Wow! Lots of struggle!

It is nice to be original and simple! Never dealt with these issues.
