I get all the caution with what seems to be happening in the world. I'm not against caution. I'm not out to want to hurt good people. But is this really right?

A lot of places I do business with are now refusing to take cash. You have to pay with a card only. I didn't think that was possible. Would not this require some sort of government mandate?

Our paper literally states "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private"

If someone wanted to float a government conspiracy. I could draw all kinds of inference on this one.

It's all about how long the virus stays on the paper money. I have heard all kinds of stories and I should look on the CDC website for a better source of info.

As far as I know, cash is the only payment that is supposedly illegal to refuse.

not a conspiracy theorist at all, but I have read the book of revelation.
little exert from chapter 13:16-18
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

that tells me there is a biblical mandate that this will happen some day, and it makes sense that this occurs in a cash less society

having said all that, im not sure if I would leave without my merchandise if I tried to pay for it, and the merchant refused to accept my payment

There is a conspiracy to prevent disease and save lives. Oh no the sky is falling.

i rarely carry cash anyway so it works for me. paper money is dirty and always has been. who knows what dirty *** twat that dollar bill has been on over its life time.. its amazing cash hasn't spread some serious disease through out the world yet.

There has been issues with cash for a long time. There are many motels that won't take cash. So far as caution, "I thought the other day," and this morning it made the news..........the deaths in the US from COVID are now surpassing the casualties in the Viet war. The flu of 1918 killed more people that the war killed people. And this, this here, "ain't over." What they are warning about is the "comeback" because people get sloppy.

There is a TREMENDOUS amount of non and dis information about where this came from how or whether it mutates, what and if there is immunity from getting it and so on. I see the other day someone is claiming their dog has the virus

The business can take what ever payment they want, just like folks selling parts on this website. If you want to pay cash and they don't accept it, shop somewhere else.

Even though the money states that it's legal for all transactions you'd be hard pressed to find anyone to enforce it, especially under COVID-19 conditions. Way I would look at it is that the business has the right to conduct business as it sees fit and I have the right to choose whether or not I want to do business with them.

cash is not legal tender everywhere. look at some fast food joints and gas stations. they have a sign posted "NO BILLS LARGER THAN XX ACCEPTED". which is bs. i look for a sign and if i don't see one, i ask. if they say they won't take such and such, i go down the road. screw them bast@#$s

we recently went to the ich swap meet in march and i reserved a room with my cc. got there and we wanted to pay cash but they said they would hold it overnite and we would get it back in a.m. if room was ok. we gave them the money and we went to inspect room next morning and were cleared to leave. lady asked me if i saw print that they only accept cc and i said no i didn't. i looked and there it was in fine print. won't make that mistake again. wonder how many are scewed after leaving then being told room was damaged?

Virus stays on plastic and metal a lot longer than paper. However I usually just donate the change. As a small business owner I'm nervous about paper money too but I store it for a few days til I make a deposit.
