Trick Flow Heads on Engine Power.

-
Speaking of heads a friend of mine ran 2 different 408 SBMs last week on the dyno ( on the same day) The street engine did around 520hp and the race engine did 630hp...both used the pro-maxx cnc heads

I like hearing that. I have a set of lightly used ProMaxx 171's set aside, which supposedly go ~255@.600. Those CNC 185 Shockers are advertised to go 285@.600. The TF "should" outpace the Shockers. Do you happen to have any more detail on the street motor, particularly the cam?

Edit to add... Looks like they dropped the price on the ProMaxx about $300 a set too

Are the trick flows SBM heads even selling...they have been around for at least a year and l don’t see a lot of builds with them so far

I am building a stroked 360 right now with the trickflow 190's

Cam is a Howard’s... I will try get more details on the build. My friend has built and dyno Tested three 408s this year with the shockers...two of them went to 520-530hp range and the race one pulled around 630hp (11:1 with 680 lift solid roller)

I’m taking it you had them ported or are planning too. Don’t they pretty much suck as delivered.

I owned a set of w9's and had them flowed by crower. Out of the box, unported the W9 flowed pretty much the same as a trick flow head. What the flow bench doesnt show is how much more power the W9 raised port will make over the entire flow curve. If i could have found the same deal 67 autocross did my 340 would be wearing W9's instead of W2's. They are an incredible head. Another Mopar Performance marketing failure.
