Wanting to swap out the 7.25 in my Dart w/a 8.75 out of the same year Demon
is it direct swap all but the length of drive shaft. Weight difference in units ?
Thanx in advance

The shock mounts are different because the tubes are larger on a 8 3/4". Need corresponding U-bolts also. You will need to shorten your drive shaft. Verify they both use the same size U-joint. Could be 7260 or 7290.

To go from a 7 1/4 to an 8 3/4 you need to remove 1 3/4 inches from the drive shaft if it is the exact same car. But You are taking a drive shaft 108" inch wheel base car to a 111" wheel base car so I think you are going to have to measure it out.
I believe I have this correct.

Of coarse it was, so sorry I thought both posts were from the same person, 2 Barracuda profile pic's didn't notice the names lol
Thank you very much also SGBarracuda !!

Either know the weight difference ? Going to between 300-350 hp, also need more gear (already have the 8.75 has 323 gear) or should I just change out
the 7.25 gear set to a 355. Wasn't sure of the weight change (8.75 being much heavier ?).

My 8.75 rear end for my 1972 Dart.

They make a u-joint that converts from the small size to the large size. And visa-versa.
