Found source for electric trunk release for $40
1985 Chrysler Laser Parts - LOCK - 4054962
I just ordered mine and I will be picking it up at a Mopar dealer in PA. The part number is 4054962, but if you search their website for that part, it won’t find it. I Googled the part number with “Chrysler” behind it and a bunch of links came up, one of which was this source. This is a discontinued part, or so many websites say. I plan on installing it in my 1967 Barracuda convertible. My key cylinder broke before and I had to reach into the trunk after taking the back seat out and reaching in with about 3 feet of ratchet extensions to open it then. This latch opens when it gets 12 volts + to it. I plan on putting in a momentary contact switch in the glove box to activate it, even when the key is off. They say this is a direct bolt-in conversion, with the addition of a power line and switch.
