Listen carefully.….. a faint "chirp" between 1st and 2nd.... LOL First time this car has done that.. :D

My 318 was a half-second faster at the drag strip with dual quads..
Looking good..

What brand and model number is that intake?
I thought I heard a chirp from the 2-3 shift as well?

Offenhauser - I think the number was 5488??? Don't quote me on that... LOL. Anyways, it's the Offenhauser 360* dual quad for a early 273

Back in the 70's, I purchased an Edelbrock dual-quad Model D64 intake manifold fitting a 1964-65 273 I found in the display case of my local Salinas Dodge dealer (Bob Wills) for $50.00 (it was painted the correct 273 red engine color). However, I always ran a Holley 600 CFM double pumper on an Edelbrock Tarantula intake manifold on my bracket car '65 Valiant 4 door/4 speed conversion. Never used the D64. I was wondering if anyone is currently using one, how it is set up, and how it performs? Thank you. (Lost the D64 when I moved)

That is awesome man I love it! You gave me an idea for my 318 build whenever I get to it! Its amazing to me how you do what you do!

Looks nice! I will tell you, though, that your 318 is NOT swallowing those cfm's up top there. I know you went to the dual quads and dropped ET, but that could only be that it was too lean before, and now you are getting the fuel. But that's ok, work with it if you're having fun. :) Just so you know, there are a lot of 750 dp Holleys into the 10's. I've seen people run 10's with a Thermoquad. One throw togather 318 I had was in a dart sport that went 14.40's at 96 mph. It just had a set of used 360 heads, used 340 cam and a Thermoquad. My gears were 3.21's with a stock automatic and stock converter. But keep working with it and see what it does for you! I like the idea!
:lol::poke:...

not swallowing the cfm's I have on top either. In fact, it wouldn't use all the 770 cfm's that I had on it prior to the dual quads. As I said in a prior video, the motor will only pull what it's able to pull... But same as I told you, have fun and see what you can get it to do... :)

I'm considering using a D 64 on my newest 340 build. Is there a reason that you chose not to runs the carbs progressively?

2 reasons:
  1. This intake has a wall between the banks, so it's a long way from cyl #1 to #7 or #2 to #8.
  2. It was just simply easier for me to hook up direct with the pieces I had to work with.....
