Just bought a chrysler lebaron

Here was mine. 1984 600 with TII parts. Stock 84 head and cam, stock TII turbochrger and stock injectors. With about 12 PSI boost it ran 13.6s at 100.

Mom had one. IIRC it was a 600 too but not turbo. I ran it through a 6" deep puddle at about 30 and the muffler pulled right off the crimped pipe. Was very reliable and tight, although it only had 30K on it at the time. I remember the doors were massive for its size. .

It does not have the problematic A604 (nicknamed a sick oh four). It's a bulletproof A413 I believe. Should last quite a while.
Go over to allpar.com and register for the eek forum (every extended K). You will get lots of knowledge there.

I ran a rare TII auto in mine. Long story how I got it but it had al the good things in it. I swapped the transfer gears to get a 3.22 final drive ratio instead of the stock 3.02:1. Mine had the stronger axles and HD carrier bearing assembly. Like Billcom said, it was truly bulletproof but I never did anything crazy with high boost or exceptionally high load high stall starts. I miss the car but rust took it out.

Thanks a lot everybody. Appreciate the feedback. Anything on the transmission?

If it has a 3 speed automatic it has a good tranny in it. Drop the trans pan, adjust the bands, change the filter, and add ATF+4 fluid ONLY. About 4 - 5 quarts.

yep, fish tank bubbler. We usually started with a MP computer for 125 bucks. With the MP computer and the fish tank bubbler we could run 14 psi without ever a cut out. Modify the air box and exhaust and go fox body hunting :D
Im new to this. What does that do?

If you put a "T" in the vacuum hose that goes to the waste gate, then put another vacuum hose on the T running someplace where you can adjust the boost by opening the bleed-off on the bubbler. Thing is, you have to be careful because boost without fuel is very bad. That is why I used the MP computer, it brought the boost from 7 lbs factory to 11 lbs, and ensure enough fuel that we ran a 180 thermostat and 14 lbs of boost all day never hurt anything. We did this to a few turbo cars, never hurt anything.

I had this kid over 20 years, only drove it 1 of those years and decided to sell it...got bored with it and wanted the extra space so I sold it. 1989 CSX-VNT, 500 made, mine was one of 232 that came with the recaro seats, car was mostly complete and even had extra fiberride wheels and a NOS front air dam. I’m sure I’ll miss it some day, car hauled ***....175 HP, it was a 15k new and had many “firsts” in the industry.

Youngest daughter went out and found one of these beasts while in HS about '92 or 03, it was one its second engine at that time. She drove the wheels off it and put probably 300,000 mi on it! It was a vert, woreout. Her mom (my X) sells it for her to a "family friend"> Funny part of the story s this friend approaches me to buy it as it is a "rare colletible". He said he paid $1000 for it and just wanted to get his money back! This was back about '99.

2.2s don't like to be overheated. I had a 86 Shelby Charger that I raced circle track. Originally turbo but put 86 HO carburated 2.2 in it. I put a Daytona radiator in it. Never overheated even when I ran a whole feature and forgot to turn on the fan.

. Thats one unique ride. Thanks for sharing

When I was in HS in the late 80's my Boss at the local fast food place I worked at had that exact same style Lebaron with the wood grain siding and a convertible. She was so proud of that car. I can't help wonder if its the same car.
