I just put my little buddy to sleep this morning. She was 18 years old. I loved her with all my heart. Sadie Girl was my 4 legged companion. I sometimes called her my itchie girl because she was always there like a little itch. My wife told me I was her "American idol" because she would never take her eyes off me, and always had to be next to me, or on my lap.

She loved hanging in the shop, unless I pulled the welder out, then she would leave before sparks were made. She was getting to the point where she had dementia, couldent see, or hear, and had back issues. I first noticed sunday morning she couldent stand up, and would cry out if I tried to pick her up. Last night I fed her a 10 piece chicken mc nuggets and fries. She loved them things. Today I held her as they put her to sleep.

Sadie Girl I am glad your not hurting anymore, and are in a better place now. One day we will meet back up old friend. Until that day comes, rest in peace little buddy.

So sad. Our pets become close to our hearts. Sorry to hear that. I have gone thru the same and still 1 of the most painful things that I have done.

I'm sorry for your loss man I just lost my girl 3 days ago it's a hard thing to face

I tell myself the only thing that would be worse than having to put down a beloved animal, is to never have had the opportunity to have known that love and devotion between us.
Sorry it came her time to go, but I firmly beleive she is at a better place, until you meet again.

Deepest sympathies for you. It's the worst, most unpleasant thing I have had to do but also the most compassionate. Been over a year and I still tear up.

"Don't weep because they're gone, Smile because they were"
You WILL meet again...

Loss of a close person (a pet is a person to me) is the hardest thing for me. Loss of pets seems to be tougher than losing humans. I feel so responsible for their well-being and happiness that loss seems like a failure on my part. It isn’t really a failure but sure feels awful. Unlike humans, our pets are innocent beings who are relying on us for their life’s requirements because most pets are born into our human world and don’t learn about “wild, non human life”. Please accept my sympathy to all who loved your little buddy.

RIP Sadie. She is running the fields on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge now.

Condolences to your family Matt. A very unfortunate but inevitable task we have to do.
Great looking dog.
RIP Sadie Girl.

Very sorry Matt. Your post brought tears to my eyes. Nothing better in the world than a great 4 legged friend.

Sorry for your lose, They become the family and are well missed.

Saddest day in a mans life ,
I just found our replacement this morning after 2yrs of crying,
Sorry for your loss.

Wow, what run at 18 years.... You are a lucky man. Sorry for the loss and the sun will come up tomorrow. Tough thing for a man to lose something that brings him hope and happiness 24/7 365.....

Sorry to hear to you had to put Sadie Girl down. It’s extremely hard to lose a pet.

I love animals more that I like most humans.

It just plain hurts. Like said, we are their caretakers, they look to us for their well being, they ask so little from us. I still grieve for my best dog friend that left me 3 1/2 years ago. I still shed an occasional tear. I admit it. Red Dog #2 is now 9 months old and so much like Red Dog #1. I just hope I give him as much joy as he does me.

So sorry, man. But, you did the right thing. It still sucks like no other, but, she suffers no more.
