Here's mine. Pic is from about a year and a half ago when my garage was just finished. The lift is far enough toward the back wall where I can pull another car behind it while still having room for a workbench and tool boxes in front. It was installed far enough away from the outside wall to have enough room to stand there and operate it, ensure whatever vehicle is on it won't hit the ceiling and also to be able to open a door and/or pull an axle on the passenger side. There is enough room on the left side to pull a car next to it but it's a little tight getting in and out.
