More goodies in the mail today as well as some more progress on the cage. Only thing left there is the front bars from shock towers forward.

Also assembled the ladder bars as we begin on them.

More chassis worl progress pics today. Theo Putin some work today. The 28x10.5's are looking great with that ladder bar setup and the strange coilovers out back. Still have the anti roll bar and wishbone to go, along with the driveshaft loops trans mount and the hot/cold side fab.

All in the eyes of the beholder. Everyone can have an opinion on it... So long as people are spending money and keeping the train on track have at it.... In the end it's you paying the bills for the build so make it for you and everyone else might as well be strangers when that invoice shows up lol...

My bills, my car, my life. As long as my family and I enjoy it and have fun. That's all that matters to me.

Ps. Dont be pissy because he has a different opinion than you.

Unwad your panty's sally. I am all for anything car related.... I read through your thread and you are mighty thin skinned about this build. In the end it's you that has to be happy. It's a compliment....

But I have a question. Now if the car makes 1200hp and with the money you have thrown at it you should be in a low 8 second ride. Why no Halo?

I'm not thin skinned at all. My ginger beard having, size 8 fitted hat headed having *** just finds it funny how the mopar crowd is offended.

Haha get’em. I have a ginger beard too. But who else has a ginger beard and a 1200hp capable car? That is the question.
Let them hate. They’re just mad they’re slow after dumping the same amount of money into a mopar motor that makes half the power.

Really? Half the power.... It's a cool car and a great build. The guy is pumping money into the economy. I follow the thread some because I like someone committed to making their dream come true. We have a Hemi Dart with a Street theme. They call it Crusty Dart. 2 significant differences. One is the guys dart is Patina and is ummm crusty lol... The other is he's tapped on a 4 sec timeslip and may have one now. Can this type of build produce that slip for the same coin? Don't know, don't care. I'm a spectator.

It's fun watching people go through builds like this. But be realistic in what you are actually seeing done. This LS build is not cheap!

JW

Is there any kind of running cost for this build? I'm not "hating" I'm just curious what it costs to get to where he is with this route.

always entertaining.....never a dull moment, I can hardly keep up. love hanging around just to see what is coming next.

Nobody complains when they put a Chevy transmission in a Mopar.....
The engine is just another component like the transmission. ....the car is still a Mopar...

I have the cost of everything when I had the 4.8 budget setup. It made 600 and was fun as hell, but like anyone else I wanted more and the budget part of it went out the window.

Idk man. This whole build is probably cheaper than that hemi engine alone. Even with all the extras I have. I'm shooting for 8s on this setup but we will see what she does. Im not one for bench racing things. The chassis work is the most expensive part of it. Everyone has their own budget as well, I'm doing what I can within mine.

$250 engine block and crank, free 317 heads, $300 for the machine work and assembling the rods and pistons part of it. $280 cam, $229 valve spring kit.
Here's the list of parts that went into the motor, and prices, building the rest myself saved alot of money. Even with all these parts still cheaper than what a fully built mopar engine would have cost me.

Everyone has their own taste, this just so happens to be mine.

just curious, why didn't you mount the ladder bars and coilovers further apart? i normally keep them as wide apart as possible as long as there's room between the tyres. of course if bigger tubs and rear tyres are in the future then the placement is clear.
it's looking real good though and i bet you can't wait to get out behind the wheel.
neil.

I'm not doing the chassis work. I dont know enough about it nor do I know how to weld. Never actually tried to learn yet.

But he is setting it up just like his Dart and he does this for a living and knows his stuff. I trust him to make it work.

those pics are lighter than the previous and it looks like the ladder bars are out further than the earlier pics seemed to show . yes he's doing great work for you and obviously knows what he's doing for sure. i like the addition of an anti roll bar too.
cheers, neil.
