What happened to informative/relative replies regarding 294 vs 394?
Be good to know the differences. Make it a sticky.
I may have one of each gotta dig.

The 394 pan, Part # 2806393 was used on 1969 and earlier SB
The 294 pan, Part # 3418293 was used on 1970 and up SB but not the 360 engine.

The difference that I recall is that the 394 pan had the holes for the end lip seals where the 294 pan did not have them.
