Pinion angle question

I place an angle finder on the pinion yoke and a bubble level on the spring perches to duplicate the stock A-body dimensions.

1. Set the housing UPSIDE DOWN on jack stands. Use a floor jack under the yoke to point the pinion 5 degrees DOWNWARD (toward the ground).

2. Level the perches at 43" on center and weld.

That's the original way I tried to tell him to do it but he wouldn't listen. Although I didn't tell him upside down, but it would certainly work.
