Any pros or cons of using an aluminum adapter verses the cast one?

Both will leak about the same... just like a panhead.

With either one, before you install it....go to the parts house and get a big copper flat washer that will fit the big bolt. That way, you can tighten the piss out of it and not bust the cheesy gasket that is supposed to be used. I've done that for decades, and mine don't leak.

Superformance Gaskets (a Mopar racer) work great. Not I single drop of oil out of mine in 4 plus years of racing.

the cast adapter doesn't matter, but many of the old cast iron ones have the big through bolt with only 2 holes instead of four.

Thanks guys. I am glad Im not the only one leaking oil. LMAO

and the weight of the filter has the tendency to loosen the bolt. I use tread sealer on the bolt. The cooper washer is pretty sure a nice upgrade. Funtionality of aluminium and cast is the same.

I had an early bolt that had 4 holes inline - tightened the piss out of it and it snapped! newer bolt has 4 holes staggered ! mopar gaskets - retighten bolt after break in - no leaks
