No ****! That’s extremely high. Up here the numbers don’t even register compared to that. But everyone isolated. That would be expected. We’ll see soon enough......
 
Hum, I wonder, 35 miles North of me is 2 universities Washington State and U of Idaho only 5 cases total.
We have 70 cases in the valley, all in 1 nursing home. 20 or so deaths.
Idaho is opening up, you wouldn't even know it was ever closed. People everywhere.

The interesting (and concerning) part to me is that the neighboring township had exactly the same number of cases and deaths that we did just 3 weeks ago...and then it exploded over there.

Our township hasn’t really changed the rate of new cases on a daily basis since then and we haven’t had any new deaths.

The health department doesn’t understand why, but they are damn sure trying to figure it out!
 
102 new cases today in this county, 100 of which are at the Federal Pen about 17 miles away. The Pen's nearest neighbor? Vandenberg AFB/Western Space Port. Still the total is under 1000 countywide.

I think your post a while back basically summed it up. We are going to have to let it run it’s course eventually. Then the sick, weak and old will have to deal with it. Your number was roughly 65% of the population. Sadly I think that’s true.

All boils down to testing. I think many have had it and have immunity now but how do you know without testing. If we can give 1200 to everybody why can't we do testing to actually know?

Wrong. So long as everyone is on the 'sanctioned' side of a 2-sided issue, then its okay.

No, you are wrong. There is a political forum with plenty of corona threads. Some people don’t want to talk politics. Imagine that. There are just many people who can’t leave their political opinions out of everything they talk about

I don't know what "letting the sick, weak, and old deal with it" means. If you have anybody in that category their dealing with it may be their death. Pretty harsh view. We can help protect them buy following simple guide lines, as we have been advised for quite a while. It seems we always have those cut above people who think going with the flow is for fools ( check above ^). Won't be foolish when one of their family is a statistic. I live in NY state and have seen the misery and fear as I have family in NY city.
 
In my opinion, all that means is that the world has to carry-on. We cannot stay home forever. The week and the sick will have to use caution when they go into public areas. Yes, I have old weak and sick family.

That's just it, it's not just the compromised people who have to be careful in public area, it's everybody who has to be cautious in public areas. If I wear a mask and others don't, the transmission of the virus can happen on any surface they may touch, cough or sneeze on. We need to open the economy, BUT we need to do it with everybody on board. Why wouldn't someone wear a mask when their out in public ?? Where is the down side.
 
Problems arise aside from the immediate action you are taking. Are you going to wear a mask for the rest if your life?The virus will not go away. It will be here forever. Are you ever going to a theatre or restaurant again? I am. And I’m gonna eat popcorn and meals with my face exposed. This isn’t just going to be here for a few months. I have no problem with being concerned for the health of others. But like I said, THEY will have to exercise caution. Regardless of whether you or I care or not.
 
I've been going to work every day since this started, have not worn a mask, and don't plan to anytime soon. I interact with dozens of people every day, and do my best to keep my distance, and wear gloves, wash my hands frequently. I have not seen my parents or friends in weeks, and can only wait for things to improve. I plan to resume something resembling a normal life, and don't plan to wear a mask forever, would rather get exposed to the virus sooner than later. My mother is 87 years old, and it is troubling that I can't risk exposing her, even today when I took her a couple of mother's day cards, had to stay several feet apart, I know it's hard for her too.
 
If I go into a place where everyone is wearing a mask, why do I need to? I can't help myself, every time I see someone driving down a street, wearing a mask and sometimes a face shield, with the window open, I have to laugh, maybe I'm going to hell, but I'll have plenty of company.

I have people say "masks are not going to keep people from getting infected, so why do all these people think it will?"
I tell them if I walk out to my mailbox over the gravel driveway in my socks it may not be as good as with shoes, but it's a whole lot better than barefoot.
 
Lufkin Tx is a rural town of maybe 100,000 pop maybe somewhat less. They have 250 pos. cases, 200 of those work in the packing plant ( beef kill plant). Those 200 gave it to the at other 50 I bet. Anyone see the problem??
 
Only if the facts are true. have you not heard how fudged the numbers are? its everywhere, rampant, and being used to convince good people like yourself to be part of the coming 4th reich
