So heading towards a divorce and need to assess marital assets and I need to put a price on my 67 Dodge Dart Convertible. It's a slant 6 w/904. 7 1/4" rear end, drum brakes all round, 9" on the front. It's basically stock so it has the least desirable options. It had a new convertible roof 3 -4 years ago, but the car is kept outside and the Florida sun takes it's toll. There are a couple of nicks and 1 or 2 small 1" tears in the roof from opening and closing. The operation of the roof is manual as there is no pump installed.

It is rusty, every panel has pretty major rust. Some need repair while others need replacement. The driver's front frame rail is also rusty and had about 6-8 inches of the bottom of the rail missing just about where the pedals are. I'm in the process of putting in new floor pans, after that it's rear quarters, trunk floor, etc etc.

Financially I know it doesn't make sense for me to repair this as I know it's not and never will be a high value car. I'm not doing it for financial gain, just for fun as a hobby.

So the big question is what's it worth. I've no intention of selling but I need to put a price down and be able to justify it. I'm not going to say what I think it's worth at this moment as I don't want to influence you all.

Thanks in advance and let the masses speak.

IMHO. it is at most worth what you can get for the sellable parts. Looks like more rust than car to me (just being realistic) a restorable 67 dart GT convertible with rally wheels and might have been an OEM commado ( a California car) in Kansas I saw on Craig's list a few months ago for around 6,500 IIRC. It looked to be very compete all trim etc no visible rust in the photos. there is a HT 270? claims to be a 273 4spd, looks to have factory hump In CA for 1,500 (no rust compared to yours)

The parts would be swap meet prices at best, figure 20 to 200 per part depending on convertible only or if there is reproduction made etc

Just my 2 cents

Not trying to insult but that thing is rough. You would be lucky to get $500 for it. Looks like it needs everything.

Thanks for all the honest replies, there were no insulting values. I've had the car several years and loved driving it. I only potter around town and to the beach. When I bought it as a non runner I took the tried and trusted method of make it stop, make it go, make it look pretty. Only I never got to that last part and it's slowly dissolving.

Maybe it will live again.

That is a peach compared to my 67 convertible, but mine is a GTS so it might be worth restoring. I would guess around $800-1000 if the convertible top assembly, the rear interior panels, the back seat, and convertible only window and rear dutchman trim are still good...

Yeah I have all the interior parts, some in better shape than others. The rear seat base is badly rusted but repairable ( I think) and needs new batting, foam and covers. The front bench is usable. It does need a redo but not high on the priority list . The roof is serviceable and the nicks are small from my cats clawing it! It has a glass rear window too.

I'm under no illusion as to the size of the task. Mechanically it's ok, not great but it runs, drives and stops. I've got a super six carb and intake ready but I no kick down sorted yet. Didn't want to do that before upgrading the drum brakes. It also needs a new exhaust manifold and full exhaust as this one leaks at the exhaust flap spindle. One thing always leads to another.

I have lots of 67 Dart convertible parts and a couple of super six set-ups. When the divorce is final give me a PM as I travel to Florida quite often from Illinois...

If you price a restored car and subtract what it takes to get there you are in the hole. For a running driving car in that rough of condition $300 is right. As noted it is deteriorating so the longer the worse.

When I went thru my divorce I went to a used car lot and got and offer/appraisal estimate. It stood up in court. Best of luck!

Sorry for your situation but when it’s all said and done you’ll probably much happier. Ask me how I know
