My '65 has a stock 225 with the 1bbl, a 904 with a shift kit and deeper pan, currently a 7.25 with a peg leg 3:55 ratio.
I'm blasting my 2bbl intake this week and rebuilding my 2bbl Carter soon to get installed for a lil gitty up!!!!!
my previous set up was a stock comp Clifford cam 264 super six two barrel 7.25 3.55 gears i would run low 11s in the eighth of a mile, pretty snappy that was with a 4 speed though. would be getting a solid 18-19 mpg.
Now with my current set up im in the 20-22 mpg way more power/torque out of the 225
