75 Dart Swinger

The little I did drive the car last year I noticed the transmission was making quite a bit of noise so I took it apart and replaced the synchros, counter shaft, cluster gear, and input shaft! It went fairly smooth for my first time rebuilding a transmission!
IMG_20200124_161144.jpg I was also tired of looking at the underbite of a bumper that is the 1975 dodge dart so I decided to change it! I didn't take any pictures of the process but I pretty much cut through both tubes for the 5mph bumper, then I split and took out the small piece of inner pipe that was left inside the larger one from the cut, then I shined up both pieces so the so it was a slip fit and remounted the bumper, tucked it close and welded it in place! I also took some weight out of the front bumper!

The 360 wasn't running great, (most of the lifters wouldn't pump up) and I probably should've just change the cam and lifters but I wanted a Hemi so on the hunt I was! I found someone who wanted to buy the 360 for 750$ and then I found a eagle gen 3 for 100 bucks! So in one trip I sold one engine and bought another!

I had done quite a bit of research and what the guy was telling me lined up with what I was reading about the gen 3 wanting to flatten cams and when I pulled it apart it turned out I was right! What I didn't bank on was the PO never doing an oil change! the pistons had about half the degree of movement on the rod that they should! All in all it's still a good score for the price but now I was left without an engine for the dart!

So I decided to finally finish the 400 I started talking rebuilding a while ago because I thought that would be the most cost effective way to get the dart on the road this summer! It's a stock stroke, stock heads with .30 over Kieth black hypers and a Edelbrock performer air gap and I plan to buy a brawler 750 for it! I really put the carriage before the horse on this one and started building before learning about the aftermarket stroker support for these things! I wasted some money getting the old parts in usable condition but I'm sure that happens to most people getting into cars! Like I said in the previous post though I'm at a bit of a stand still because of the crappy Canadian dollar but hopefully this thing will burn some rubber this year!IMG_20200307_170412.jpg IMG_20200307_170408.jpg
