I cleaned up the passages in my oil pump and block. I need a new cap for the oil pressure spring, but I don't need to purchase a new high pressure spring kit. Does anybody know where to get just the plug. I have done searches here and find many mentions of the plug, but not where to get one by itself. Seems like it should be nothing more than a $1 hardware store item. Google yields threaded pipe fittings or push on pipe fittings but not a push in type needed.
Thanks if you can provide a source

UPDATE; Dorman 555-011 works perfectly. $0.58 at OReilly, Advance, etc.

Look up core plugs or welch plugs (not expansion plugs). A well equipped local NAPA store may have them.

Also, if you do a search here for things like 'oil pumps' or 'pressure relief valve', you can find that info here.

Thanks guys. I think I found a Dorman part number, but nobody locally stocks it. Most things i’ll look up, end up saying expansion plug in the description. I don’t want to try and shove the wrong thing in there, and realizing that I need to drive it in backwards from normal, I’m probably just going to throw the MP high-pressure kit in my cart next time I order something from Summit.

inquiring minds want to know, Dorman part # ?

Thanks 4Spd, I’ll keep you in mind. I won’t be getting to it for a while though. Don’t go digging yet.
@chrgdrt Looks like Dorman 555-011 might be the ticket, ($0.56 @ OReilly) won’t have an update for some time, planning on working the intake side of the pump, as well as it looks like we might start making some progress on the body & paint work finally.
UPDATE; Yes, Dorman 555-011 works p
