Chevy Dad with Mopar loving 16 year old son

Greetings, been a chevy guy my whole life and my 15 yo son fell in love with 1968 dodge dart, has big plans some day for his recent purchase. Point is, Dad and son learning together. so here goes. 273 engine compact wheel 9 inch front brake job to get road worthy.

brake drum hold down kits (pins and springs) all parts catalog says for 10" but we have 9", I assume interchangeable? Did the 9" have the pin/spring hold down set up?

what is the part of the brake line between front hose and wheel cylinder called? I've been on different websites like inline but can't seem to find that particular part? any leads? we don't need them yet but wondering in case they are compromised and need to be replaced.

Looking forward to learning and the more pics i see of these mopars the more i think they're super cool. thank you
The part between the soft hose and the brake caliper itself isn't that a banjo fitting or something? That might be on disc brakes. The hot ticket is to switch to disc brakes up front with a large bolt pattern. the large bolt pattern meaning 5 on 4 and 1/2 instead of 5 on 4 allows how much bigger rims selection... And as you probably are going to find out having a 16 year old kid he's going to want more horsepower LOL which means a bigger rear end to hold on to it which is going to likely have the large bolt pattern as well..
When you start studying that small block as compared to one of your Chevy you'll start figuring things out.. put a small block Chevy lifter and a small block Mopar lifter in your hand and think about which one you want... Do you want that little 5/8 Chevy bolt holding your harmonic balancer on or the inch and an eighth bold Mopars have.. do you want your rocker arms flopping around on single pedestals or do you want them on a shaft for stability.. (like NASCAR)...
Remember as you learn things a lot is actually the same, the one thing for sure a lot of Chevy guys can't work on mopar's but most Mopar guys can work on Chevy's... Learn it, live it, love it, LOL..
I for one would love to see some pictures.....
