This looks like the place to be to get a schooling in Mopar knowledge. I cant contribute anything of value, but I only have half a million questions.

One of my life goals is to build a car, not just own and fix them. I drug this Duster home last weekend. It was a 6cyl manual trans car.

The goal is a smallblock, 4 sp, hot streetcar.

I have a lot of learning to do.

Thanks,

Welcome from WI. Best of luck with the build.

Welcome to FABO, from the Land of Lincoln.
I like your name very catchy.... DivergentAbody :moving or extending in different directions from a common point
The very best to your project, many helpful people here.

Welcome from Texas, it looks like you have a decent start for your hot streeter.

Welcome aboard it's good to have you. Don't worry about about asking a million questions I do it too. Lol even if I think I know the answer I will ask it anyway I'm a do it yourselfer too I am building my car not paying someone else to do it for me. I have made some mistakes and had to go back and correct them but it's a learning experience. I have some advice for you I'd like to share I hope it will help you.
#1 Do not completely disassemble your car. It's a disaster trust me. The guys on tv make it look way easier than it is. Pick a project on the car you want to do and only remove what you have to to complete that project. Keep everything organized and well labeled take tons of pictures to help with reassembly. And keep the nuts and bolts labeled with well readable labels label makers work great. Dont use pens and if you use a sharpie put a piece of clear tape over the letters so they dont get wiped off when you get grease or brake cleaner or whatever on the bag. When that project is done put that back together drive it enjoy it then move to the next project or upgrade that you want to make. But I repeat do not strip the whole car down to the frame and remove every nut and bolt. Because there is a 99 percent chance you will get frustrated overwhelmed and loose intrested and the car will set for 20 years or until you sell it. Ask me how I know! Haha
#2 There is no such thing as a stupid question!!

^^^ I agree! And welcome!! I have made some inexpensive (relatively) and fun cars from your recipe!!! I vote get it driving safely and work on one thing at a time. Sure IF you have the $$ you order and hunt needed parts as you go, but for most people, taking it all apart is asking for a long .......

Gotta love Petty blue.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. There is not much left of the car, so it is pretty much coming apart. Thank you all for the advice though. This is going to be a long term thing as time and funds allow.

Well, don't burn me at the stake. I had a GTO as a kid which is also an A body. Hence the handle. Always had respect and love for the Mopars though.

As mentioned earlier, don't take it completely apart unless you have a lot of time & patience. We have seen multiple cars here stripped to nothing & then all of a sudden, life gets in the way & the car is shoved to the bottom of the priority list. Once it sits awhile, all of a sudden, interest is lost & the car is parted out or sold for parts because the interest waned. It's just a thought for you, plenty of the folks here have done the driving/rebuild trick with great success.

Welcome to FABO and the wonderful world of Mopar!

I was stationed in Lewiston recruiting for the Air Force. Covered from Riggins over to Kooskia, up to Moscow/ Pullman and over to Clarkston. Really loved living there!

It was interesting seeing they ran a 8-man high school football league at the small schools.

Welcome from Indy! Glad to have another member here, and don't worry. If you haven't lost your mind yet, we'll help you do it soon!

Jokes aside, beautiful car! Can't wait to see what you do to it :D

Is it factory Petty Blue? Looks like it's in nice condition. That color with a white stripe is amazing!
