When I bought my 67 barracuda it looks like someone replaced the carpet at one time. Its in really nice shape. Other than where the seats were & under the dash it really faded. Has anyone ever dyed or painted there carpet ?

I have black carpet and it was faded pretty bad. I believe I used a SEM carpet dye I got at a local automotive paint store.
Followed instructions and brushed it per directions. It worked very well to restore the color. It was the same as you describe.
Not real worn, just faded.

I used SEM spray paint on a black carpet. Landau black......came out great.

I bought new brown carpet from a friend. I used RIT fabric dye- black- and a clean full size plastic trash can. I filled it with hot water from the water heater. Two bottles of black dye, and left it in the sun all day. Then I rinsed it twice till the water ran clear. Turned out good.

My carpet is red & I would like to find a color close to the original red
