i prefer using the foam board sheets as well, but i dont know how it relates in insulation/price comparison
but if your budget is like mine...you my need to go this route

you took an entire foot of your floorspace, turned it into insulation and it didnt give you any room ?
You realize that a 2x6 is 2" less than a 2x4, so if I save any energy it would be worth it. Only lost on front wall side wall & garage door.
