i put new tires on the duster (small bolt pattern with small studs and alluminum slots) and wouldnt you know it...i forgot to check the torque before pulling them off

i put them at 80 pounds right now, sound right?

steel wheels vs aluminum wheels = different torque specs. steel is 80-85 and aluminum is 70, generally speaking on both. Also, don't forget to do it progressively.. star pattern and work up from "hand/wrench tight".

You don't want to overtighten those 7/16 studs. I agree 70 ft/lbs is more than enough with the aluminum wheels.

thanks guys

ever since i lost a aluminum wheel on the bronco, im a little bit hesitant on "good enough"

ill keep them on 80 for now
next time they come off i will put it at 70

(i did do the star pattern)

Always good to re-torque after a hundred miles or so. Especially with aluminum wheels and/or uni-lug with those soft washers.

FSMs are such nice things.
