Hi Guys...

Well maybe my 74 got the virus, it got somehting..
Last time I started it was about 2 or 3 weeks ago.. started right up.. usually does
My friend came by with some of his tech tools (He is big Mopar guy)
So before he showed up I put the charger on the car... just because...
When he got here and we went to start the car using the ignition, nothing... and I
mean nothing... so I went through and cleaned every contact I could find, and
the car would start using a wire jumper, but not even a remote starter would work..
Today after leaving the charger on the car all night, I tried the ignition, nothing
then I pulled light switch, no light, went and did a wire jump and she turned over..
oh no horn either..
So I know I have a common problem, am I missing something? I don't remember
having the fuse block down, but it is, could it be corroded wire ends?
any thoughts
Best
Dave

not the starter, could be the solenoid will check
as I said I can jump the solenoid and turn the car over.
refer to original post, the wipers do work
when in run, but no horn or lights still.
no chewed wires. Did give a thought to the
AMP meter, but seems to show discharge when key on. I'm going through my Haynes Manual
nothing that helps yet..
thanks for the input guys

Have you tried reseating or checking the engine bay bulkhead connection. Years ago mine got clobbered during a engine swap. I didn't have anything from inside the car but when I pushed on the bulkhead connection while the door was open- bingo! Lights came on and the key worked.

Mine was the fusible link. Same type of problem your experiencing.

Check and see that the wires are connected to the ballast resistor before the coil input

NO LIGHTS means follow the path of basic primary power

From battery.........to starter relay "big stud"--through FUSE LINK----through BULKEAD CONNECTOR (RED) to ammeter---out ammeter on big black--------to under dash welded splice--------branch off-------

feeds headlights power
feeds fuse box "hot" buss (stoplights, etc)
feeds power to IGNITION SWITCH

So your main big "usual suspects"

are fuse link, bulkhead connector, ammeter problems, or the welded splice, which is rare but does happen.
