The push button transmission in the car worked great for the most part. The only issue was that when I slid the park lever down, the D button would pop out and the neutral button would go down to make it appear that the car took itself out of drive and put itself in neutral. In reality, it didn't and the car would still be in drive and lunge forward when re-cranking.

It was no big deal for me as I just mad a mental note to put the car in neutral and then in park.

I took the car to have disc brakes put on the front and mentioned the transmission issue to the mechanic and asked if he could adjust it.

Well, unfortunately, he took a crack it. Now the car wont go in reverse. I have to push the D button very hard to get it in drive. I have to play with it for awhile to get it back in neutral.

I asked him if he made the adjustment at the push button assembly or at the transmission itself. He said he adjusted it at the push button assembly.

I need to know just how screwed this is now. Can that assembly even really be adjusted? And if so, how?

Would I be better off buying another one that someone has not tampered with?

Thanks

Found something that may help you.

www.hotrod.com/articles/mopp-0807-transmission-torque-converter/
look through the photos, and there is a photo showing/telling you how to adjust the cable.
hope this helps.
