Yours isn't all that far off. It's almost a maroon color. Look under the trunk lid, fender tag, windshield moldings, etc, to see some original paint color. My '66 rag top is that color, but, it's going to be painted bright red in the future!

I have already started A LOT!!! of tear down in the short few weeks I have had her and findidng the orig paint in places and it looks considerably lighter than the brownish maroon she looks now. Just hoping to see what it looks like fresh. The orig rag top on mine was gone but found remnants of it under the trim around the windows and it was white.
