So I've been poking around lately at the idea of a 68 or 69 2 door Coronet, 2 door satellite, roadrunner...
This is my ultimate dream car and I'm looking at the ones LOL in the very very very project stage meaning something I can afford... I absolutely do not have 20K all at one time to be able to drive home a project.. it will absolutely come home on a trailer or what's left of it at any rate...
What that said I've been getting some information regarding 68 cars and titles and not having a VIN number stamped into the sheet metal or something like that? Really I need any information anybody has and I'm not prepared yet to go join the b-body site... This is and always will be home.. I sure appreciate any insight anybody has any of these cars.. thank you...

I had a 67 Coronet...miss that car bad.
Similar to this....from bbodies.

The fender tag will have an "order number" which should match the number stamped into the radiator support and trunk rail.
It's the same as A bodies.

I am a 68, 69, and 70 b body owner as well so no issues with you asking here :)

Without the fender tag, you really can't detect a re body but there are a lot of 68 only things that can tell you if it is a true 68 and that's as good as it's going to get.

Love the B-bodies, especially '68-70's. I've ran around a ton in B-bodies in my younger days. As to J par, you answered his number question. Coronets, Chargers, GTX, Satellites, Belvedere's..... ran around in 'em all when I was much younger :)

Agree. Tailights and side marker lights are the first two give aways.....

I'm really into b body wagons......I have a 68 coronet 500 wagon, they are definitely fun but huge cars.

I used to have a 68 charger and I could barely see out of it. I wouldn't have seen an elephant on my 1/4 panel because of that HUGE blind spot created by the recessed back window. Those cars were made for tall people.

I got into a 69 numbers 383 4 spd road runner for under 10G a couple years back. Not running. Did some rust repair, trunk floor, quarter patches etc, got it running and sold it for 20 with a spare 383 powering it, CAD that is. If you look you will find, but they are not cheap.

finish what you have, there is a lot to be done

I was lucky to find a rust free wagon.

Wagon specific parts are really hard to find.

This is when I first got it, doesn't look that original anymore

Love the B Bodies, everyone knows immediately what they are.

Lots and lots of thumbs up and waves when out driving around.

Heaven on Earth

Might politely ask, what's wrong with the b body site?
nothing's wrong with the site that I know of I just never been on it. I don't think I'm wanting to introduce myself with no car and I don't know, I'm more comfortable here...

But again the 68 won't have the same sequence numbers as the title does on the core support?..

No. Thec sequence number in the vin / title almost certainly won't match the core support.

That started in 69 when they stamped your last digits of the vin into the core support

Thank you this corresponds with what the guy was telling me who's selling one.

You don't have to own a B body car, to be on the site.
I'm a member on all of the alphabet soup, lettered sites, and enjoy all of them, along with a few of the other car manufacture's sites, domestic and foreign.
Can't own everybody's cars, makes and models.
