In this article: Spindle Comparison Near the top of the article it says that the "B" (F,M.J, etc.) spindle is about 3/8" taller than the "A" spindle.

Then, in the 3 photos directly below, it says the "B" spindle is on the left in each one.

In the first photo, that seems to be correct. From what I know, I recognize the one on the right as an "A" spindle. (I've never seen a "B" spindle.)

Then in the second photo, the taller spindle is on the right. Isn't that backwards?

Is this a typo? If it is, it's in a bad spot.

I've been driving myself (and probably a few others) nuts trying to figure out this front disc conversion stuff. I don't need no stinking' typos!

The B , FMJ spindles are taller than the A body spindles. You can use them on an A body. There is no bumpsteer issues. If you want geometry corrected UCAs to use with them, the tubular UCAs are typically geometry corrected.

hit up the search feature here. lots of stuff
example
72bluNblu is a big help with these

That article is just a reprint of the original published by Mopar Muscle and now hosted by Hot Rod.

Swapping Disc-Brake Spindles - Mopar Muscle Magazine - Hot Rod

Looks like they just flipped the picture. The 73+ B/E and F/M/J/R spindle is the taller one. The A body spindle is a little “chunkier” looking too, the later ones are smoother, more rounded and a few pounds lighter.

Yes, I've done the research. I just wanted to make sure that photo was captioned wrong, it would've thrown me off if it wasn't.
And yes, 72bluNblu has helped me a lot on some PM's.
I now have 73-up disc spindles for my 74 with 10"drums. I'm saving for a Willwood 140-15465, to which I'll add hoses, MC and adj. proportioning valve.
I wonder who made the decision to use a 4" bc on these cars? A small part of why I'm doing this is to get rid of it.
In the 80's, I had a 73 Dart Sport w/ factory discs. It was a beater that cost me less than the front brakes are worth now! I sold it to a friend who let someone else drive it and slid it sideways into a curb. It was only 10 years old and had rust everywhere. The drivers outside door handle fell off because of rust!

The caption is wrong for the second photo. Interesting thing is that the second photo is one I took. But that photo is so old I don't even know if I have the original file anymore. That photo must be at least 20 years old which puts it back near the beginning of the digital camera era.
