Pipe dope or Teflon tape on fuel fittings?

Being a plumber for over 50 yrs , and a hotrodder longer than that , I`ve used both and a whole bunch of other stuff . Teflon tape works well , if put on right , even so , it will need to be cleaned out of a female fitting on about any application.
