NASCAR Mopar

Disagree. Why do Ford, Chevrolet, and Toyota dump millions of dollars into sponsoring teams in all the NASCAR touring series, as well as many other forms of racing? Why do Ferrari, Renault, McLaren, etc... dump billions of dollars into F1? Talk about no resemblance to a "car"!
As far as NASCAR, Ford and Chevy (notice they're the only rep of GM) have been in and out of official sponsorships many times over the years. Toyota was trying to get a foothold in the American racing scene. NASCAR is in decline right now (mostly because of reasons stated) and they feel their money is better spent elsewhere. They still have a presence in other forms of racing (NHRA, lots of road events), but there is talk of a return to NASCAR (just rumors at this point) if certain points are met... don't hold your breath.
In F1, Ferrari is part of Fiat/Chrysler, so why would corporate dump money into competing against themselves? Ferrari has more international recognition and history in F1. Somebody would get fired for suggesting that Dodge should compete in that arena. There is probably already enough infighting for corporate dollars between Fiat/Ferrari/Alfa/Dodge for sponsorship money. It's all about making $$, and where it is most effectively spent or invested- and that's how corporations view participation. Nascar just didn't make sense for FCA anymore.
