Stop in for a cup of coffee

I agree 3.55 is likely the best choice overall, but the car came with 3.91 stock and it is just one step closer. Not much true freeway driving. Mostly just country highways.
I agree, my car was 3.91 from the factory and I’m not going to change it. I don’t spend much time on the highway and I like the performance.

But, if I was building it from scratch...yeah, 3.55

So the weather kind of sucks with drizzle and cool temps so, my wife and i had a couple refreshments and played some bags on the porch...lol. I cant say I have ever played on a porch...lol.

I'd like to try a 3.55 or a 3/73. I bumped up to 255-60/15's from the stock sized 14" tires. I couple use more gear.

A overdrive or O/D auto is the way to go.
Why?

OD is just another way of getting the correct ratio for all around use. Sure OD might help if you want to drag race and still drive on the highway...but why?

Build a drag car or build a street car...trying to make one both has never made sense because it’s a compromise on each end...and neither end performs like it should.

Pick your build purpose and make it the best it can be for that purpose.

Period.

Everytime I've had an OD I spent most of the time in 3rd or 1to 1 ratio.

I like to keep the rpms up a much as possible that way it's real responsive and helps one to drive more aggressively

The od makes lag and not as quick to torque up. Sure it saves gas but whooopy doo, gas is cheap anyway

Gas is going up, and it is not cheap here at all.....

I have two 660 center squirters on a 440 and a 3000 stall. I will be running 3000 ish going 60mph. Sounds about perfect...

i tink it went up agin since the last time I looked the other day
My vehicles that I drive are both diesel, so that never went down at all. My wife's car is gas, but she does not drive it hardly with her working from home....
