489 Setup Issues

I just put a new ring, pinion, and bearings in my 8-3/4” 489 case. It has sure grip. The rearend makes no noise on deceleration, but how’s on acceleration. I’ve set a few up in the past and never had this issue. It is driving me crazy and I don’t want to trash these new gears. Any input is greatly welcomed. Thank you in advanced.
 
What was the backlash? With all new bearings it should be .005" to .006"
 
Probably missed the pinion depth by a couple thousandths. Some new gears are a bugger. I can tell you this, you don't have much time to correct them before they set in and you'll never be able to get it out so my advice is pull it back out and recheck the pattern. Did you take any pics of the pattern when you got it set up?
 
I drove it about 5 miles. Got the 3rd member out now. Finally found a local guy that is going to set it up for tomorrow. Thank you for you guys input.
