Here are some of the pictures from the early stages of this process. The mag intake holes are filled with the za-12 as well. I used some plates to block the bottom open sections where the rockers go, and the intake flange. We preheated the head as we were melting down the za-12 ingots, once we poured it it filled in the cavity and intake holes. Before we poured them i mocked up the valve train to get a rough idea of where the new pushrod tunnels needed to be, and that was just a bunch of test fitting and grinding to find the new locations. Once those were created i rtv'd 1/2" wooden dowels in the new tunnels to hold shape during the pour. Afterwards they were chased out with a drill. I then later drilled them slightly larger and used some k&s tubing to sleeve the holes.
As for the rocker stands i turned up some offset bushings to locate them properly and go from the 3/8 bolt hole to the 5/16 bolt hole. As for the offset, i believe they are .550 on the intake and .080 on the exhaust, i will have to double check that. As far as the money goes, i surely did not buy these new just to cut them up. I got a stupid deal on them from a circle track guy cleaning shop. Paid $180 shipped for em!!! That was what really got the project started and moving from more than just a pipe dream.
