Should just be the wire that is connected to the horn ring goes to the horn contact button and on the other contact goes to ground.

If your able to hear it blow by bumping the contact wire onna screw, that tells me you don't have it grounded through the horn button.

I just looked at that wheel. I am not familiar with how that button is setup (with the spring) mine has an actual button with two tangs (ground and horn)

Common Grant wheel problem. Try, while pushing the horn button down rotate the wheel from side to side. If it blows the contact ring in their kit is not grounding. Was there a spacer in the kit for the steering shaft ? That may be the problem. You may have to remove a few thousands off it. I'm going thru that with my car now. Too lazy to take it back apart and repair it. But the car isn't tagged for the road yet.

I do have the sleeve installed but now the puller I have wont fit the grant hub to remove an investigate

i had that problem. the instructions in my installation had no mention of the aluminum sticky tape that went on the contact plate. it was included in the kit. once i put that on it worked great. hope this helps

Several years ago, I installed front and rear floor pans in a 69 AMX (one of my favorite cars of all times) for a friend of mine. He asked me to install a Grant steering wheel while I was at it. It took me hours to figure it out. The instructions sucked.

update if this happens to anyone, some hvac aluminum sticky tape does the trick....works like it should now... Thanks
